What is a Biodiversity Action Plan ?

A BAP is a record of the wildlife - plants and animals, large and small - found in an area along with suggestions on how they can be protected through the proper management of the habitats where they live.

National and regional BAPs have already been produced which form a framework into which local plans may fit.

The production of an Overton Biodiversity Action Plan is supported by Overton Parish Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and the Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre.

Overton's BAP can be downloaded from our resource section.
